Ben & Jerry’s creates new delicious new ice creams with crunchy cookie dough cores
Who cares if its 20 degrees out? We’ll gladly down a pint of new Ben & Jerry’s.
Last week, the real Ben and Jerry hinted via their Reddit AMA that new Core Ben & Jerry’s flavors would drop soon. And the ice cream kings certainly delivered, in the form of the three newest Core ice creams added to the Ben & Jerry’s lineup: ice cream with cookie butter cores. Even the pint names themselves pack a sweet wallop: Spectacular Speculoos Cookie Core, Boom Chocolatta! Cookie Core and Peanut Buttah Cookie Core (too cool for the “er” ending, clearly).
The core flavors, much like their “That’s My Jam” and “Hazed and Confused” predecessors, contain a “core” of deliciousness (like jam, hazelnut fudge, or peanut butter) running through the center of the ice cream. These new cores, meanwhile, are each made with cookies and cookie butter. To reiterate: cookie butter ice cream is here to throw us all off of our quickly withering New Year’s diets.
Speculoos Cookie Core ice cream is dark caramel and vanilla ice cream with speculoos cookies and cookie butter core; Peanut Buttah Cookie Core is peanut butter ice cream with crunchy peanut butter sugar bits, peanut butter cookies, and a peanut butter cookie core; and Boom Chocolatta! contains mocha and caramel ice creams with chocolate cookies, fudge flakes, and a chocolate cookie core.

WHY WE DID IT: These pints combine every delicious thing ever created: Cookies, ice cream, cookie butter — we had to make sure Ben & Jerry’s did their ingredients justice.
Hold on to your spoons — Ben & Jerry’s just created your new boyfriend (in a pint).
The Vermont ice cream company announced Tuesday that three new cookie-centric flavors are joining Ben & Jerry’s permanent lineup in freezer aisles starting now, with nationwide distribution hitting in a few weeks.

We always get excited about testing new products and flavors — even if it’s one of the weirdest sounding creations ever — but these pints had us grinning from ear to ear the moment we saw them.
Why? Because their sole inspiration is cookie butter. Cookie butter, which, if you aren’t familiar, is a blended cookie spread and one of the greatest things to be jarred since Nutella. That’s a fact.
These Cookie Core pints are an expansion of Ben & Jerry’s original Core line, which debuted last year with four varieties that all feature an inch-wide 𠇌ore” of some gooey filling amid different ice cream flavors. Salted Caramel has a core of — what else? — salted caramel, That’s My Jam has a core of strawberry jam and Peanut Butter Fudge has a core of peanut butter fudge, and so on.
These new pints all feature three different flavors of cookie butter. So, we’ve already got a recipe for success.
But the question remains: How do these pints compare to previous stunners like Half Baked, Phish Food and Cherry Garcia?

- What’s in it? Dark Caramel & Vanilla Ice Cream with Speculoos Cookies & Speculoos Cookie Butter Core
- How does it taste? Forget ice cream, just give me a spoon and let me continue to go to town on this Speculoos. Okay, back to ice cream: The B&J team did a good job of finding complementary flavors to wonderfully-bold gingerbread butter. The caramel ice cream isn’t too intense, and the sweet cream tastes nice and light — and those crunchy cookie pieces are a lovely textural contrast. I could keep eating this one for days. Sidenote: This is the meltiest of the three — it gets gooey real fast.
- Boom Chocolatta! Cookie Core
- What’s in it? Mocha & Caramel Ice Creams with Chocolate Cookies, Fudge Flakes & a Chocolate Cookie Core
- How does it taste? Not as decadent as one would assume, this flavor is reminiscent of Half Baked, with some chocolate here, cookies there, all melding together in one smooth, addictive bite. The cookie core is gritty and tastes like a thick brownie batter, while the gooey fudge flakes melt in your mouth. The mocha ice cream delivers a bit of a punch, but the caramel flavor keeps it light. If you want a super-rich chocolate pint, look elsewhere — but for non-chocoholics, this is quite yummy.

- Peanut Buttah Cookie Core
- What’s in it? Peanut Butter Ice Cream with Crunchy Peanut Butter Sugar Bits, Peanut Butter Cookies & a Peanut Butter Cookie Core
- How does it taste? We’ll get to the taste, but that smell! As soon as you peel off the lid of the carton, you are flooded with the scent of peanut butter, which prepares you for the most intense peanut butter-y ice cream I have ever tasted. I wouldn’t want to eat the ice cream by itself — a little too strong — but with the cookie bits and peanut butter cookie core (which is quite delightful on its own) — it makes for a good bite. If peanut butter cookies are your favorite, this is for you.
After tasting all three in this order, I dived right back into the Speculoos pint — not only is it the tastiest, but it’s also the most unique and interesting, with just enough spicy, molasses-spiked gingerbread butter to leave you craving another spoonful.

Earlier today, Ben & Jerry’s released three new ice cream flavors called Cookie Cores Ice Cream, proving once again that they know us better than we know ourselves.
Last February the brand introduced their core ice cream concept with the release of four flavors that boasted center fillings like fudge, caramel, and raspberry jam. The move intended to boost ice cream sales during the off-season. Naturally, everyone became obsessed with them. #Genius.
This January, they are revolutionizing the cookie butter craze by adding this “creamy, spoon-able cookie” to their lineup. So, clear a spot in your freezers for these new game-changing players and get the scoop on the flavors below:
The New Flavors
Peanut Buttah Cookie Core
From the ice cream flavor to the chunks to the core—it’s all PB on PB on PB. If you’re a peanut butter fanatic, this flavor really “delivers it, from the creamy to the crunchy to the peanutty core of crushed-cookie stuff that spreads like buttah (and tastes even bettah).”
Boom Chocolatta! Cookie Core
It has mocha. It has caramel. It has fudge. It has cookie butter. If ever there was a pint-sized version of the the ultimate “epic chocolate” experience, this would be it.
Spectacular Speculoos Cookie Core
If you thought Trader Joe’s was the only one who knew how to use speculoos as its secret weapon, think again. This B&J flavor boasts dark caramel, vanilla ice cream mixed with crushed cookies, and you guessed it—the cookified core.

Ben & Jerry’s Just Released 3 New Flavors With Surprises in the Center
Ben & Jerry’s is known for their wacky ice cream flavors. They invented Chubby Hubby, Wavy Gravy and (yes) Schweddy Balls. Most of their experiments are delicious. This pregnant mama is currently eating a tub of Half Baked for breakfast. But their latest additions sound almost unreal. Each of Ben & Jerry’s new flavors are packed with deliciousness and have a thick cookie dough core.
Ben & Jerry&rsquos Cores line includes pints of ice cream with a cylinder of sweet deliciousness running straight down the middle. Previous cores have included salted caramel, brownie batter and peanut butter fudge. And while each of these iterations were &mdash hell, still are &mdash ingenious, the new cookie dough cores take things to the next level, because these bad boys have a giant vein of cookie dough smack in the center.
The new flavors include the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Core, which contains &ldquocookie milk ice cream… fudge chips and a chocolate chip cookie dough core.&rdquo The Sweet Like Sugar Cookie Dough Core is a blend of sweet cream ice cream, shortbread cookies, cherry ice cream, cherries and a sugar cookie dough core, and the Wake & &ldquoNo Bake&rdquo Cookie Dough Core combines vanilla ice cream with peanut butter cookies and peanut butter ice cream.

The new flavors are available online and, according to Ben & Jerry’s, should be in Scoop Shops and grocery stores soon, so keep your eyes peeled. We are sure these frozen snacks will be flying off store shelves.
Ben & Jerry’s releases four new ‘core’ flavors for an all-in-one sundae
Ben & Jerry’s is known for its unconventional ice cream flavors, but now it’s attempting to reshape the way we eat the frozen treat. The Vermont-based brand has introduced four new flavors, and each one has all the elements of an ice cream sundae.
Borrowing from its Karamel Sutra flavor, which features a core of soft caramel, all four of the new flavors, dubbed the “core” line, include two ice creams, separated by a sweet and gooey streak down the middle.
The four new flavors include Hazed & Confused, with chocolate and hazelnut ice creams with fudge chips and a hazelnut fudge core That’s My Jam, with raspberry and chocolate ice creams with fudge chips and a raspberry core Peanut Butter Fudge, with chocolate and peanut butter ice creams with miniature peanut butter cups and a peanut butter fudge core and Salted Caramel with sweet cream ice cream, blonde brownies and a salty caramel core.
Anyone else thinking about taking a spoon and scooping out the entire core of caramel?
The pints are also the brand’s first line of ice creams to be 100% fair-trade certified and made with non-GMO sourced ingredients.
Priced at $4.39, all four flavors are available at stores nationwide. The brand also plans on adding handmade core sundaes with a core of hot fudge or caramel between two ice cream flavors to its Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops in the spring.

For those of you who have never had cookie butter, it's a spread composed of mashed up cookies, and as unbelievable as this is going to sound, it's actually better than that description implies. The best way I can describe it to you is to ask you to first imagine the texture of creamy peanut butter. Now imagine it tastes like starlight and rainbows mixed with the edible version of that feeling you get whenever you play with a kitten. I won't even buy it normally because once the floodgates open my apartment would be filled with nothing but empty cookie butter jars and youɽ eventually see me on the news being hoisted out of my bedroom via crane.**
BRB rushing to the nearest supermarket to buy all of these ever.
** Also, I'm not 100% sure they sell it at most places in Pittsburgh since the potato quotient isn't high enough.

Not enough to just eat it? Here's a recipe from Ben & Jerry's for Spectacular Speculoos Ice Cream Truffles. Of course, you can substitute any of the flavors.
Spectacular Speculoos Ice Cream Truffles:
1 pint Ben & Jerry’s Spectacular Speculoos Core Ice Cream
1 cup heavy cream
4 ounces white chocolate
Cinnamon for garnish
Place metal cookie tray with waxed paper in the freezer.
Let ice cream soften so it is scoopable, but still firm.
Scoop small balls of ice cream onto chilled tray and place in freezer again.
Place heat proof (glass or stainless steel) bowl over boiling water, add 1 cup of cream to heat cream to low boil and remove from heat. Place white chocolate in bowl and slowly add cream while stirring. Let ganache cool, but still have liquid to dip.
Drizzle ganache over ice cream balls, sprinkle with cinnamon, and immediately place in the freezer for at least 2 hours.
Ben & Jerry's New Cookie Core Ice Cream Flavors Turn All Your Dreams Into A Reality
Remember when Ben & Jerry's announced its Core Ice Cream Flavors last year? With epic flavors like Hazed and Confused and That's My Jam, how could we forget?
Pros at improving and expanding upon golden ideas (in December they introduced Peanut Butter Half Baked, a peanut-buttery version of its now most popular flavor), Ben & Jerry's has just taken its core technology to the next level. Today, Ben & Jerry's is releasing their newest creations: Cookie Cores.
Just like the original Core flavors, Cookie Cores contain a column of deliciousness running down the middle of the pint, so that each scoop, from the top to the bottom of the carton, contains at least a bit of the Core filling. Instead of the previous incarnations, which had jam, caramel or peanut butter running down the middle, the new Cookie Cores are made of cookies and cookie butter. That means spoonable cookies, just so everyone's clear.
The new flavors, pictured above in order from left to right, include Spectacular Speculoos Cookie Core, Boom Chocolatta! Cookie Core and Peanut Buttah Cookie Core. In addition to making traditional speculoos cookie butter into a Core, Ben & Jerry's turned chocolate cookies and peanut butter cookies into a spoonable cookie spread. Not only does each pint contain a cookie Core, but each one also contains cookie pieces.
Cookie butter, for the uninitiated, is a spread composed of pulverized cookies. Think peanut butter, made from cookies instead of peanuts. The most well-known cookie butter has always been Biscoff Spread, from the maker of the speculoos cookies you see on Delta flights. Like Biscoff cookies, Biscoff's cookie butter is something of a cult favorite -- or at least, it's not as well known as it should be. In the last few years, however, cookie butter has transitioned from general obscurity to the mainstream, due in no small part to Trader Joe's, which sells its own line of cookie butter. Leave it to the Flavor Gurus at Ben & Jerry's to recognize a good thing, and incorporate it into their own ice cream technology (our favorite kind of technology, obviously).
Spectacular Speculoos Cookie Core is dark caramel and vanilla ice cream with speculoos cookies and speculoos cookie butter Core. The texture of the cookie butter is spot on.
Peanut Buttah Cookie Core is peanut butter ice cream with crunchy peanut butter sugar bits, peanut butter cookies and a peanut butter cookie Core. First of all, how could you not love an ice cream with "buttah" in the name? But more importantly, Ben & Jerry's perfectly captured the grainy quality we love so much about sugar-coated peanut butter cookies.
Boom Chocolatta! Cookie Core is mocha and caramel ice creams with chocolate cookies, fudge flakes and a chocolate cookie Core. This was our favorite of the lot. The gravelly texture and rich flavor of the Core worked flawlessly with the not-too-sweet ice creams. Even if you're not a fan of coffee ice cream, we almost guarantee you'll love this one, because the coffee flavor isn't too strong and adds an X-factor to this already dreamy pint.
"These are cookies you’ll want to spoon!” Ben & Jerry's CEO Jostein Solheim accurately stated in a press release. He's not wrong. We're hoping for a chocolate chip cookie butter Core next, but in the meantime, we'll be plenty busy with these three new flavors.
The new Cookie Cores will be sold for $4.89 a pint, and will start hitting retailers and scoop shops nationwide today.

Few days back, I was blessed to be invited to a media preview of Ben & Jerry’s new ice cream flavours. For those who love to have your ice cream and cake together, now you can have them both together!
So what are the 2 new flavours that Ben & Jerry’s has installed for us? There are the Ben & Jerry’s Brownie Batter Core and the Ben & Jerry’s Cookies & Cream Cheesecake Core.
We all know that Ben & Jerry’s ice creams are good on its own. But during the event, we were taught to have it in a new way! Seriously can’t wait to share with you guys cos I thought this is a brilliant treats for any party! We were taught to make Ben & Jerry’s Tiramisu Trifle. Please don’t even have that thought that it is going to be hard. I assure you, it is as easy as ABC!
Ben & Jerry’s Tiramisu Trifle
– 1 pint Ben & Jerry’s Brownie Batter Core/ Cookies & Cream Cheesecake Core ice cream
(remove from freeze about 30 mins before assembly)
– 1 Pack of Ladyfinger biscuits
– Brewed Coffee (Can replaced with any instant mix coffee)
– Speculoos/ any other desired fillings and toppings
Our first mission is to fill up 1/3 of the small plastic cup with Ben & Jerry’s Brownie Batter Core and/ or the Ben & Jerry’s Cookies & Cream Cheesecake Core.
After that, break the ladyfinger biscuit into halves/thirds if needed and dip them into your brewed coffee. Do this as quickly as you can as you do not want your ladyfingers to be too soggy. Layer them on top of your ice cream.
Add in the speculoos (Add more, I think it is super yummy) and any fillings or toppings you might like in your trifle. Fill the cup with another layer of ice cream.
Top your trifle off with another layer of coffee-soaked ladyfinger biscuits and deco as desired.
Freeze for 3 to 4 hours or overnight. And there you are, your lovely homemade Ben & Jerry’s Tiramisu Trifle! I am sure your guests will appreciate your effort for this after dinner sweet treat! I have with me another recipe from Ben & Jerry’s for you to try out too!
Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Pie
– 1 pint Ben & Jerry’s Brownie Batter Core/ Cookies & Cream Cheesecake Core ice cream
(remove from freeze about 30 mins before assembly)
– Salted Caramel/ Chocolate Fudge
– Truffle-infused nuts (soak your choice of nuts in truffle oil overnight)
– 150g Butter
– 300g Digestive biscuits, crushed
1. Ensure that the digestive biscuits are thoroughly crushed to get fine crumbs. Melt the butter by either bain-marie style or quickly using microwave.
2. Mix the digestive crumbs into the butter.
3. Layer the mixture hard in your pie tin and press hard against the sides and bottom to ensure that the base is compact and will hold well.
4. Scatter the truffle-infused nuts on the biscuit base, then spread the ice cream onto the base and alternate with salted caramel or chocolate fudge (whichever you prefer, I say have them all! =D). Swirl the sauce with the ice cream and feel free to add in more nuts.
5. Top the pie with more nuts or any desired toppings and freeze overnight before un-moulding and serve.

Ben & Jerry’s has some news that will shake you to your core.
The beloved ice cream company announced on Wednesday the release of three new ice cream flavors with cookie dough cores: Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Core, Sweet Like Sugar Cookie Dough Core and Wake & “No Bake” Cookie Dough Core.
All three pints—which feature “gobs of cookie dough running right down the middle”𠅊re available in Ben & Jerry’s scoop shops and in retailers nationwide for $4.29-$4.99 per pint.
The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough flavor is the most similar to the original, with cookie milk ice cream, fudge chips and a cookie dough core. The Sweet Like Sugar pint has half almond-flavored ice cream with shortbread cookies and half cherry ice cream with cherries and a sugar cookie dough core. The Wake & “No Bake” Cookie Dough flavor is made up of both vanilla ice cream with peanut butter cookies and peanut butter ice cream with fudge chips, plus a no-bake cookie dough core.
