There Harlequin cake is the first recipe I prepared this year in view of Carnival. It is none other than the large version of the muffins that I proposed a few years ago. In short, it is a more cheerful and colorful version of the famous zebra cake: instead of alternating white and chocolate dough, the mixture is divided into many bowls, adding a different color dye to each of these. Here we will then have a fantastic one multicolored cake, absolutely perfect for the carnival period!
I then decorated it with colored sprinkles to make the harlequin cake even more festive, the children, but not only them, will love it, try the recipe and let me know;)

How to make the Arlecchino cake

In a large bowl, mix eggs and sugar until frothy.
Add the melted butter and then mixed with the milk and vanilla, in order to warm it, and mix.
Finally add the sifted flour and baking powder, and salt.

Divide the mixture into 5 bowls: leave one neutral, and add a little dye in the other 4, mixing each one with a different spoon so as not to contaminate the colors between them.

Grease and flour (or line with parchment paper) a 22 cm diameter mold.
Pour in the center 2 tablespoons of the mixture taken from the first bowl, then add 2 tablespoons taken from the second bowl exactly in the center of the previous one. Continue with the third, fourth and fifth bowl and repeat the round until all the doughs are finished.

Bake in a preheated static oven at 180 ° C for about 40 minutes.
Let it cool, then unmold the cake, brush the surface with honey and cover with the sugar sprinkles.

Et voilà: the Arlecchino cake is ready to bring joy to your table!
